Re: Pewps' thread of game stuff
I'll probably end up paying full price for Pillars of Eternity.
Obsidian has an odd track record though. Preferred New Vegas to the base game of FO3. Didn't like NWN2. Liked Alpha Protocol a lot but goodness was gameplay terrible and full of bugs.
And just fuck KOTOR2 in general.

They're also perpetually on the brink of bankruptcy and making New Vegas almost killed them because Bethesda is really shady. My guess is their spotty execution has a lot to do with never having money.

I bet Fallout 4 won't be as good as New Vegas. I bet they'll remove ammo crafting, hardcore mode, companions, multiple endings and stats. It'll just be Skyrim with guns.

They'll probably make it take place in some European city and completely miss the point

Re: Pewps' thread of game stuff
So, I started playing SWTOR again, does anyone here still play? Is the new expansion any good?
Made my 4th Imperial Agent, much fun.

Re: Pewps' thread of game stuff
I got out in January or so. The bugs the new expansion brought were too much for me, and it didn't really add anything to keep me playing. When they announced that 3.2 would be 12 weeks after 3.1 and wasn't bringing anything I would sub for anyway I cancelled my sub. They killed a lot of my interest in the game.
But I also have 13 max level characters (or were max level before expansion) so I'm pretty much in been there, done that mode with that game.
The expansion itself is kind of silly, IMO. The story isn't very good. Parts of Rishi and the two flashpoints are OK but other than that I pretty much hated it. The story is really dumb.
But hey they are adding an appearance tab at the end of April.

Yeah, I'm mostly playing to experience all stories, only finished Imperial Agent.badfo wrote:I got out in January or so. Never really cared about Revan(even before SWTOR) so not sure how to feel about the new expansion, still, it probably has some fun moments(I finally get to flirt with a Sith lady, hellooo).
I just really miss Orbital Strike on my Operative... At least I got the Legacy version, which is on a 15 minute cooldown, better than nothing I suppose. Also I kind of miss the old skill tree, but I'll reserve judgement on that until I get to a higher level.

Re: Pewps' thread of game stuff
Yeah orbital strike being sniper only is bullshit. They had nerfed it into the ground before they removed it from operatives. For me it was a big "fun" ability for operatives even if was shit. It was also pretty useful in PvP for denial even when it was nerfed.
What tree are you playing? Lethality flows better in the new system. I didn't play much concealment. The med tree is fine but more stationary now.
I don't care that much about Revan either, but in general I think they've done a terrible job with him in SWTOR. I don't even think he needs to be in the game. Nothing of quality would be missed if he was absent. In general BioWare Austin did a terrible job with almost everything force related in the various stories.

My OCD means I find it really irritating that the Agent Legacy ability is unique to one advanced class.

Inquisitor is too but nobody is complaining about more lightning.Wimble wrote:My OCD means I find it really irritating that the Agent Legacy ability is unique to one advanced class.

Re: Pewps' thread of game stuff
But originally both Force Storm and Orby Strike were available to both their ACs, right? Now that they've done away with that rule they should fix some of the Republic ones (ie. choose better abilities). All Pub Legacy abilities look lame and aren't the iconic ability anyway.
They should make Knights' ability Push. Sweep is the worst.

I just beat my first boss on Bloodborne. It's very fun so far. I really liked demon souls but never played dark souls. So I don't know how it compares to DS2.

From the videos I've seen, it seems a bit faster-paced than Dark Souls. Someone who did a no-shield playthrough of Dark Souls would probably have an easy time in Bloodborne it looks like, with such heavy emphasis on dodging, rather than turtling behind a shieldfallenchicken wrote:I just beat my first boss on Bloodborne. Yeah, the game definitely awards aggression and timing. Since there is a health reward for counter attacking you never want to sluff off except to control mobs/emergency.Pewps wrote:From the videos I've seen, it seems a bit faster-paced than Dark Souls. The loading screen is indeed 40 seconds but it hasn't bugged me at all. It only loads when you die or go back to base and doesn't feel punishing. When I die I usually have to get up and start breaking things, anyway.
