Re: so pewps
I voted for Elise Stefanik, and was I happy to see her win.
I continue to be amused that I get to vote in elections for a country I contribute nothing to, and can't vote in a country I do heavily contribute to. (Although it's not like I get anything out either, which is fair).
I am also amused that even when I vote republican, I still manage to upset my parents by for voting for the wrong republican.
2016 will be interesting. I can't believe people would actually vote for a 3rd Bush, but apparently he's considering it. I'm interested in what Hilary will offer - she was my #2 choice in 2008, after Ron Paul.

About the only good things I can say about Obama at this point is that he did better in his first four years than McCain/Palin would have.Wimble wrote:badfo assured me he was voting obama

There really needs to be a government holiday on days with important elections. When I was waiting in line I had to be the only person below the age of 40.

Re: so pewps
I ended up not having to wait in line. One of the volunteers said they got slammed right at 7 a.m. from people trying to beat the rush. badfo perfectly timed his arrival around 9.
Hey Pewps, at least Fallin won with a lower percentage than last time? I wonder if she would win if you removed party names from the ballot.
I guess the silver lining is we get a few more years of watching her react in horror as the gays continue to take over Oklahoma and ruin marriage for everyone.
Pano doesn't like it when I talk about Obama being a disappointment but better than the realistic alternatives we are given.

Utah got even more Tea Party. I didn't vote because I didn't think things could get worse.
They did.
They did.

You would have a bunch of people just mark the party vote box and leave and lines would be worse.Thaed wrote:I wonder how much things would change if you guys had compulsory voting.fallenchicken wrote:Utah got even more Tea Party. I didn't vote because I didn't think things could get worse.

I'm surprised Utah hasn't been more vocal about bringing back legalized polygamy.badfo wrote: I guess the silver lining is we get a few more years of watching her react in horror as the gays continue to take over Oklahoma and ruin marriage for everyone.

Re: so pewps
The Mormons (the official ones) would never, ever. They are very sensitive when it comes to polygamy. They want everyone to know that's in the past. The response to the gay marriage, even here, seems to be pretty positive--most people have come around, or don't care that much, and if they care, it's only passively. I'm sure a few politicians and activist groups will keep trying to make a stink about it, but the great thing about gay marriage is--most people just don't give a shit. Even in red states.JensenBakura wrote:I'm surprised Utah hasn't been more vocal about bringing back legalized polygamy.badfo wrote: I guess the silver lining is we get a few more years of watching her react in horror as the gays continue to take over Oklahoma and ruin marriage for everyone.
Same thing with marijuana. Look at Alaska. Isn't it funny how the republicans Red Wedding'd the democrats, but liberal issues--such as minimum wage, marijuana, gay marriage, so on--also had a resounding victory? Marijuana was legalized in like three states, I think? Just goes to show people really have no idea what they want. They just know the economy is bad and have bought into the republican marketing strategy that it's because Obama is a Muslim who hates jobs. Same thing with the health care law. It's actually been a success overall, and people really like the stuff in it... except for when they're told it's Obamacare. They just hear that obamacare=bad.

I bet if the republicans ever do succeed in repealing or dismantling The Affordable Care Act they turn around and reintroduce the same fucking thing within 5 years.
Whatever greasy haired think-tank underling that thought up the title of 'Obamacare' deserves a raise. He may be responsible for setting the country back another half decade.
