Westbrook just signed the max though! So even if they are rentals, I think the real goal was to keep Westbrook. It worked. Presti is god.

I don't think Melo adds a lot to this team and PG will most likely leave--but who knows? OKC got them both for nothing and has made Westbrook (and George, for now), extremely happy. Melo isn't going to get them over GS but he carries a lot of cashet with players and signing him has both Russ and Paul feeling very positive. Plus, you got rid of the treacherous Kanter, who defies the legitimate Erdogan, WHO IS PRESIDENT OF ALL TURKEY *bangs pots and pans*. Also who is bad and had the worst contract.

OKC is gambling, basically, but they're only betting bad contracts. It's like going to a casino and betting your credit card debt. And they just got Westbrook to commit long term. Paid off huge no matter what happens this year and no matter what happens with George.
