I couldn't stand a month wait for the PC so I rented on da xbawks
I'm only like an hour into it. First impression is that everything seems to be a bit slower. Enemies' attacks and mobility are slower but at the same time, attack animations/raising your shield/rolling are also slower. I suppose it makes things kinda easier to predict but if they get an attack out on you it's gonna be less forgiving than the first game. Difficulty feels the same it just feels different. DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT YET. The tutorial is more user friendly and player models look better. I will update as I progress.
I realize that it's coming up as white but it's actually blonde. Also Sephiroth is the 2nd best character in that game after Barrett for killing that annoying bitch, so don't even
So I'm gonna complain about a few things I don't like. In the first game, increasing endurance would increase your stamina and how much weight you were able to equip without slowing down. The heavier you were the more sluggish your rolls were and you were altogether slower. In this game, endurance has basically been split into 3 stats, one that increases your stamina, one that increases your equip load and one called "Adaptability" which increases your agility. What you have to know about Dark Souls 1 is that when you were mid roll, you had invincibility frames. In Dark Souls 2, Adaptability increases the amount of iframes you get when you roll and the speed of your roll and you basically start out with jack shit. I'm assuming it also makes you use your items quicker too.
While leveling takes less souls, so you could conceivably level all those stats easier, you also need those souls to upgrade your equipment. Combine that with the fact that you don't get souls when you help someone beat a boss and they've made it to farm souls, IT JUST MAKES THINGS A PAIN.
I'm on the 2nd boss and I'm just gonna say that he has a bullshit moveset and his recovery time after attacks is almost nonexistent. It wouldn't be so bad if his healthpool wasn't so high, but it's pretty large. He feels like a boss that should exist way later in the game.
