Thank you. A well thought out reply which both supports and smashes some of my observation. I really thought people would be more... well, versed. Since i dont know the lore inside out i cant often give the discussion any depth, but claiming the movies went like that because.. lol :

"Just a flashy movie aspect. It'd be kind of boring, as well as anticlimactic if Qui-Gon and Kenobi just kinda spent 5 seconds fighting Maul then stabbed him."

Salo and I know a bit about the lore too - thing is, the standard of SW knowledge on those forums is really poor. Which is fine, except some people who know SFA think they know heaps.
